Well… I have officially achieved cabin fever. I feel so isolated & alone down here in the basement. My IM’s, text messages, and e-mails are not being returned! I feel like the last person in the world.
This morning I had great plans to go to Tumbleweeds but it backfired when we woke up late for work and my husband was concerned about being late for work. We did however get the sewing machine I found on Freecycle. Later on I will try to be brave and test the bad boy out. It’s the similar style that I am used to but it looks really old… so I don’t know how well it’s going to work out!
Also, this morning I fell down the stairs! Great for a person who is recovering from surgery! Now to add to my already swollen, black & blue abdomen… I have a bruise on my arm, one on my bum (oh no!) and a large scrape on my back. Not to mention the joy of having an even more sore body. Hooray for that.
So, I am going to try to make myself feel better… prettier even and attempt getting a pedicure. That’s if Debbie wants to play… Maybe we’ll even go to that famed quilt shop. I sure would like something to do.
I mapped out the quilt I’m going to do, I just need to figure out how big those arcs will be. The pillow is 18 X 18 and the square that I’m putting the double wedding ring design is 12 X 12… that would make nine 4X4 squares. The circles need to overlap to make the rings so…. what size do the circles need to be? The age old math question strikes again!
Well that’s all for now… hopefully I’ll have a new post later on with some pictures to liven up the place. Thanks for listening to me blabber on!

NO … you fell down the stairs? My god that’s terrible. I’ve done in a million times myself. And it always makes me so furious, I’d like to slap someone to relieve my own pain. I hope you’re okay now.
Tumbleweeds is awesome! Cody and I love that place. Expensive, but awesome. I hope you can get your sewing machine running. Post some photos of your project for us to see.
@ Wendy – I am going to try to respond the same way you do on these… not that I have many readers but I like the way it’s done on your site.
Tumbling down the stairs sucked and I have a huge bruise that gets uglier by the minute!
I went into Tumbleweeds and was shocked at their prices! They also didn’t have any Beatrix potter which was sad but I got what I needed and went to Joann Fabrics for the fabric since they’re WAY cheaper! I will definitely post photos once I get everything up and running. I hope that the sewing machine works!
I fell about 3 1/2 weeks ago and broke my ass. I’m not kidding. I have a whole blog about it at the end of December. Technically, I broke my tailbone and it still hurts to sit down. I can’t stand for more than a few minutes at a time because of my back and I can’t kneel because of my knees so it doesn’t leave me much. I may be old but I’m unstoppable. I’m like the energizer bunny- I just keep going and going.
But I’m sorry you fell, especially after having surgery. That sucks.
I’m not into the sewing thing but I do want to start doing some kind of crafts. I picked scrapbooking. That’s because it only involves glue and scissors. I also want to learn to make beaded jewelry and I want to make my own salves and lotions. Except I haven’t done any of them yet. I have all the stuff, I just never get around to doing it. Oh well, all I have is time.
@ Joan – Tailbone injuries are horrible! I bruised my tailbone falling off a horse once, extremely painful & uncomfortable to do almost everything!
I love scrapbooking but I lose patience with it after about an hour… Beaded jewelry is fun.. i like to bead suncatchers the most. There’s a great shop in Hyannis called the Bead Emporium. If you haven’t been you should go! They have everything!
I’ve always wanted to do my own soaps and lotions but never got around to it. You’ll have to let me know how it goes!
