For whatever reason, I can longer sleep a whole night. Ever since I first went into the hospital… I awake at 5am, or earlier, each morning. This morning I woke up at 4:01 — and it’s not the usual groggy awakening that makes me so graceful in the morning. It’s not the one that makes me stumble around the apartment half asleep, press snooze a thousand times, or even go back to bed for another hour! Oh no, this awakening is “up-with-a-bolt-awakening.” As in, needs no further instruction awakening. I wake up, I look at the clock, my eyes are bright and wide, and I’m on to the next thing. (Usually getting some tea, using the room of rest, and returning to the dungeon apartment.) So this morning, after doing my usual thing I wanted to attempt returning to sleep… I could not. I was able to rub Tristan’s back until he fell asleep though. He tends to get cranky when he’s awake before he’s supposed to be.
So while I cannot explain why I keep getting up at this hour, I can tell you that I have had these quilts on my brain since I first posted about them. I close my eyes and see them, I wake up and think about them. Last night I dreamt that a fellow WP Blogger posted a “Quilt of the Week” and I was participating… it was strange to say the least. Obviously, I have some work to do today! However, the Quiltsmart pattern I purchased from Tumbleweeds at the high price of $29.95 is listed on Quiltsmart’s webpage for $16.95! Fantastic! I knew they were overpriced, but that’s just ridiculous. At least it looks easy…
Anybody know where else to purchase the Quiltsmart packages? Hopefully for much less than Tumbleweed’s price! Well maybe later I’ll blog about the progress of my project!
I am also heading to borders today to get a travel guide on Hawaii. Tristan & I want to visit there, (we’ve never been) and we’re also thinking of moving there! A couple friends of ours have lived there and while it is expensive they all say if we can handle living on Cape, we can handle living on Hawaii.
Who wouldn’t want to live next to this year round!?
And last but not least, a side not to my friend Wendy, Thank you for all of your help! I appreciate it so much! I am using Windows Live Writer right (write?) now! As promised I would help you find out how to add categories… well open up your live writer. Go ahead I’ll wait… and do you see on the bottom of the window there’s a drop down menu that says “Set Publish Date” and below that it says the WordPress Logo with your blog title… well to the LEFT of “Set Publish Date” is a dropdown menu that says “Set Categories” and that my dear friend, is where you add your categories! Just pull it down and all of your usual suspects are camping out waiting for you to click on them.
Happy Blogging everybody! It’s 8:35AM and I need more coffee. Who else is thinking IHOP? Oh yummy… instant intestinal death but at least it tastes good at first!

Thanks for figuring out the categories thing, I’ll give a try later this morning.
The waking up with a bang! is something I’ve done periodically for years, and my sister does this also. I’ve known a lot of women who do this. Men, not so much. I think it’s anxiety and stress; women tend to brood about every problem, trying to come up with solutions even in their subconscious while they’re sleeping. Men just hit the pillow and pass out. About a year ago I read a tip to help you fall asleep, and it usually helps me fall back asleep too. Just focus on breathing in and then breathing out, nothing else. Think to yourself, “I’m breathing in, I’m breathing out …” and stay with it, bringing the focus back if your mind starts to wander. Seems to really help. Helps me, anyway.
Have you checked ebay for Quiltsmart packages? Here’s a link to what I think you’re talking about:

@ Wendy – thanks for the link, I have that piece it’s like a plexiglass stencil for the arc. I didn’t check ebay… i can buy them on the quiltsmart store online I just was looking for instant satisfaction.
I’ve always been able to fall asleep easily. As soon as my head hits the pillow I’m out, but as for waking up… once I’m up I’m up. I can’t seem to go back to bed. Although it’s great for a midday nap!
for almost a year now, i have been suffering from horrible insomnia. i will wake up at 3 am and that’s it. i am up for the day. truly annoying. i’ve tried various “treatments,” but nothing works. i’m learning to live with it. hey, i get alot done at 3 am.
windows live writer totally rocks. i need to load it onto my laptop so i can blog on there too.
hawaii…i would move there in a heartbeat. spent 3 weeks there for my honeymoon. it was gorgeous. i want to go back, but we live on the east coast now so it would be quite a journey….and we have two children…..
sorry about the quilt package. it definitely pays to shop around. nonetheless, the quilt design is gorgeous. can’t wait to see the finished product.
