Well, Wendy created this amazing meme that was formed off of a post that Little Miss made. It’s amazing. Play along!
For me, there are a lot of songs that get me every time. I never used to be this way… but my husband is a music fanatic and really gets into lyrics and the art of a song. REALLY gets into it. For this reason, there are quite a few songs “dedicated” to us that he’s told me about and so quite a few that are held near & dear to my heart. I’m going to try to post this at the same time as he does, just in case we have the same songs.
We’re good like that and do that kind of thing a lot.
My number one is: “Strange Religion” by Mark Lanegan. I really don’t like this video because it’s a fan video with scrolling pictures of him, and it could be so much sweeter but I’ll post it here anyway so you can listen. The lyrics are completely factual to Tristan & I’s story… except for the ‘73 part… but you can listen for yourself.
Second, is a video that Tristan posted on my MySpace yesterday. It made me cry, it made him cry. It’s a crying song.
and last but not least, is a fan video for The Notebook that makes me cry every single time… I can’t explain it. I hate the song by itself – but with the video it fits pretty well.
Meme Rules and tags after the jump.
Rules for “Insight To My Heart”:
Post the song that just gets to you every time you hear it.

*I didn’t tag anybody – play along if you haven’t already*

Now I wanna see The Notebook. sniff, sniff. I’ve never seen it, I thought it was about elderly people for some reason. (I always get in fights with the elderly, so I don’t really watch their movies.)
That middle video/song was so sweet! I loved it. And I loved the end, because I’d thought the bunny died but then there they were together at the end!
Thanks for doing this. I should have tagged Tristan, and David too (he posted a geeky song on his blog tonight, how bizarre is that?). I didn’t think any guys would do it, but I guess men like music too. Who woulda thunk it?
Ahh… well, The Notebook is about old people but it’s about their story as young people. It’s a very sweet story, but the elderly can get distracting lol. I somehow wish they had it just the young people but I won’t give away the ending. You just gotta see it.
The bunny video is sweet. Tristan just came out of his “Cave” (his office) and looked like he was crying and I said “You watched the bunny video again didn’t you?” and he sniffed and said yeah and promptly demanded a hug. He’s sweet like that.
Apparently guys like music. So weird… lol I also posted a follow up for songs that are special to me that don’t make me cry. So yeah… have fun with that!
Awesome post! I’m learning so much from this. How fun is this. Wendy has great ideas, for sure. I also went and checked out Tristan’s blog…How fun!!!!
Yay! I’m glad you approve.
I’m also glad you checked out Tristan’s page… sometimes he gets a little grumpy when I have more blog hits than he does.
HA!
